Jess recently enjoyed a relaxed and positive short-term accommodation stay at Melissa Court, Amicus’ purpose-built respite home in Castlemaine, that’s designed to provide comfort, connection and independence.

From the moment they arrived, Jess felt at ease in the space. They described the accommodation as excellent, particularly the adjustable bed which helped reduce soreness and made resting more comfortable. Throughout their stay, Jess felt respected and well supported by the team. They appreciated staff giving them space while still being close by for assistance. 

Meals were another highlight. Jess enjoyed getting involved in cooking and cleaning, choosing to complete tasks independently while staff provided gentle supervision. They said it made them feel capable and included.

Socially, Jess felt comfortable, welcomed and never isolated. Having the house to themselves during this stay made the experience even more relaxing.
