Interim CEO appointed for Amicus

National community sector identity Ken Marchingo AM has been appointed as the interim CEO for Amicus Community Services.

The appointment replaces former long-term CEO Ann-Maree Davis who stepped away from the role in late May, whilst the Amicus Board of Directors recruit for a permanent replacement.

Mr Marchingo advised that whilst his role is temporary, it was by no means a caretaker position, and that planning was already underway to ensure the organisations key projects and participant services continued to move forward positively.

“The executive team and myself have already spent significant time planning for the future, identifying key initiatives to prepare for implementation over the next 12-18 months” advised Mr Marchingo.

“Strategic planning is underway, with a view to provide the incoming CEO with a clear, relevant and impactful pathway for the next few years” he added.

Amicus Chair Paul Somerville said that “Ken’s vast leadership and transformative experience in the community sector ensures the organisation is in very capable hands whilst we work through the recruitment process”

Mr Marchingo has extensive experience supporting large organisations to care for vulnerable people within the community, including social housing, disability housing and social program development.

Currently Mr Marchingo is a consultant to a number of community sector organisations in Victoria and further afield after retiring as Haven Home Safe CEO in 2021.

The Amicus Board of Directors would like to thank and acknowledge Ann-Maree Davis as the former CEO and for her 13 year tenure leading the organisation through extensive growth and positive change.

Ann-Maree has made a significant impact on our organisation, and has been instrumental in building Amicus to the capacity that we deliver today” said Mr Somerville.“Amicus’ one person at a time focus, led by Ann-Maree Davis has ensured that we have been able to support people to live the lives that they choose for themselves, and I know Ken will ensure that the positive momentum created by Ann-Maree continues”.
