Working with our community to develop our Community Inclusion and Capacity Building framework

Amicus is a not for profit organisation and we contribute all our efforts back in to the work we do, the people we support and our community.

Through our provision of innovative supports, Amicus promotes active participation for people with a disability in our community.

We work one person at a time to champion valued roles, independence and community connectivity. We support our participants to explore and experience their best life through education, employment, skill development, housing, success, relationships, travel, finance, roles, rights, life experiences, accomplishments, recognitions and development of confidence.

Amicus is excited to continue to lead the way by developing our Community Inclusion and Capacity Building framework and commencing a formal collaborative consultation with our participants and community in an effort to pave the way forward for community inclusion.

This is the first Community Inclusion and Capacity Building Framework and will embed our values at every level of the organisation, from decision making and policy through to service delivery. We believe that every staff member within Amicus has a role to play to support community inclusion in the work they do each day.

In August 2021, the inaugural Amicus Community Inclusion Consultative Committee was held and in a significant moment in time for Amicus, our framework was unanimously endorsed.

We thank the committee for their time, acknowledge their contribution and appreciate the valued insight and direction this will provide Amicus in to the future, to ensure we are leading positive change in the right way.
